How do I get certified?
Certification starts with choosing between DISC Certification, Driving Forces Certification or EQ Certification based on which assessment you plan to deliver to clients or inside your organization. All programs combine live instruction with practice sessions after completing on-demand learning modules and a certification assessment. All programs are offered in multiple virtual and on-site formats. Current schedules and session lengths are listed on the DISC, Driving Forces and EQ certification pages. If you're not sure which track fits your work, contact Leadership Resources and Consulting and we'll help you figure out whether you need DISC, Driving Forces, or EQ, or any combo of the three — most practitioners start with DISC because it's the most commonly requested by client organizations.
Is certification required to use DISC, Driving Forces or EQ with my team?
While we strongly recommend it, no, certification is not required to purchase assessments or use them with your team. Anyone can order a DISC, EQ, Driving Forces, or combined assessment through Leadership Resources and Consulting, receive the report, and apply the insights internally. What certification does is qualify you to deliver assessments to others — interpreting reports, facilitating debriefs, and representing yourself as a qualified practitioner in a client-facing role. Leadership Resources offers certification programs for DISC, Driving Forces and EQ, which are the assessments most commonly delivered in workshop settings. If you're an HR leader using assessments inside your own organization, you don't need to be certified; we can walk your team through the results. If you're a consultant, coach, or trainer planning to deliver assessments, certification is the professional standard. Not sure which situation describes you? Reach out and we'll help you figure it out.
What is the difference between DISC, Driving Forces and EQ Certification?
DISC Certification trains you to deliver behavioral assessments, how people communicate, make decisions, and respond to challenges. Driving Forces Certification trains you to deliver motivators assessments, why people do what they do while EQ Certification trains you to deliver emotional intelligence assessments, which measure self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, social awareness, and social regulation. DISC answers "how does this person prefer to act?"; Driving Forces answers "why you do what you do?" and EQ answers "how effectively does this person manage their own and others' emotions?" Most practitioners start with DISC because it's the foundational behavioral language most client organizations request. Driving Forces Certification is a great follow-up to DISC to help broaden understanding and help teams. EQ certification makes sense once you want to add the emotional-intelligence dimension to your coaching or leadership-development work. All programs cover administration, interpretation, debrief technique, and real-world application, and each stands on its own — you can certify in any of the sciences without adding any others.
What will I learn in a certification course?
A certification course makes you qualified to administer, interpret, and debrief the assessment for your own clients and teams. You'll learn to administer the assessment, read and interpret reports at a professional level, debrief results with individuals and groups, spot common misinterpretations, and apply the framework in real workplace contexts — hiring, coaching, conflict resolution, team building, and leadership development. DISC Certification covers behavioral graph reading, natural versus adapted style, style adaptation strategies, and how DISC applies in sales, hiring, and management contexts. Driving Forces Certification helps you build stronger relationships, raises your satisfaction and fulfillment in work and life, and increases your appreciation for what drives others and why it is important to them. EQ Certification covers the five dimensions of emotional intelligence, scoring interpretation, and development strategies for raising an individual's or team's EQ. All three programs include practice debrief sessions and a certification assessment. Stacey is also informally available to help certified practitioners with questions that come up after the course. Full details and current schedules live on the DISC, Driving Forces and EQ certification pages.
